Although he was rallying in the last few months, he had been pining for his wife, Eunice Mary Thorne, of 58 years, who had only passed away two years ago, almost to the day. Previous to his immigration to Canada, Ray worked at the coal mines in Wales, starting out in the mines and quickly becoming an accountant for the mines and working above ground.

He moved his wife and young son to Canada in when he realized the future in the valley would not provide enough opportunities for his son. He and Eunice left behind their families and life-long friends for the chance to live a bigger life in Canada.

They joined their relatives in Vancouver region and formed a comfortable life here over the years.

Ray became an accomplished wood carver over the years, studying with great masters like Arnold Mikelson and winning several first place entries in shows. He has been carving at the Kennedy Senior Center for years now and has established long friendships. His art work is a reflection of his ability to focus on detail and his never-ending patience. Ray enjoyed carving animals and birds and leaves behind two beautiful carousels for his grandchildren.

They will be on display at the Kennedy Centre in July.

Ray and Eunice were both excellent grandparents whose love for their grandchildren was evident in every interaction. Ray will be missed by his friends, his relatives, and his family. Albert, Alberta passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 67 years. Dave was a devoted husband and father, taking great pride in spending time with his wife and each of his children any way he could.

The best part of his day was always with his family. A private service will take place on Friday, October Neil loved the aviation business and began his career with Pacific Western Airlines, followed by Canadian Airlines and finally Air Canada where he retired with 33 years of service.

Al was elected Mayor of Thorsby in for a 3-year term. He was passionate about his involvement in the community. Al loved scuba diving, camping, model airplanes, wood working and participating in the Grande Prairie Marching Band. His passing was one day before his 73rd birthday. He also leaves behind his "adopted" son Scott and daughter Gayle. And we know he will surely be missed by his family in Alberta, brothers-in-law Bob Sue and Dave Debra and their families. Terry will be missed by all who knew him. He was 64 years young and with his daughter Karly when he slipped into his final sleep. Details of a memorial gathering in Calgary in the near future are being reviewed and information will be shared when available. Less red hair than he had his Herc days but still smiling.

Henry Schindler passed suddenly but peacefully at St. He was pre-deceased by his first wife Hedda and his daughter Karin and is sorely missed by his son Ruffo, Liz, and many friends who touched his life.
